Whole Home Energy Monitor

I am currently designing a system to monitor the energy consumption of my home. Over the years, we have noticed that our consumption has steadily increased for “no apparent” reason.  I would like to get a handle on this to do my part to save money, and same natural resources.

Defered as installation cost was prohibitive. I would have needed a new larger subpanel to hold all the current transformers.

So how goes the design of the measuring system of energy?

Hey. I would like to see your design as it seems very useful for everyone to save their money. Can you please show us that?

This project got put on the sideline because my electric circuit breaker box was too small to fir the current transformers. In fact when I had the inspector out I found that my panel was not up to code. Just recently my wife and I decided we had to update the 50 year old kitchen. To do so will require changing out the electric service box. I am having a much larger one put in so that I can fit the current transformers and should be able to pick up this project again. In the mean time, I have implemented a system to read my smart electric meter by demodulating the RF transmissions.
